Step 1

Disconnect Battery & Remove Intake Manifold Bracket

Disconnect negative battery cable. To gain access to the starter situated behind the radiator, remove the intake manifold support bracket underneath the vehicle.

🔧 Fastener: 12mm Bracket Bolt • Torque Spec: 17 ft-lbs
Step 2

Unbolt Starter Cables

Remove the plastic weather protection cap. Unbolt the B-terminal starter cable (12mm nut) and pull off the solenoid S-terminal trigger connector.

🔧 Fastener: 12mm B-Terminal Nut • Torque Spec: 8 ft-lbs
Step 3

Remove Starter Bolts

Remove the two long mounting bolts holding the starter assembly to the engine block, slide the starter out, and drop in the replacement assembly.

🔧 Fastener: 14mm Starter Mounting Bolt • Torque Spec: 47 ft-lbs
